The components of The Pet Glider Diet are:
- TPG Staple
- TPG Vitamins with calcium
- Brunch or Monkey biscuits for a dry snack
- Mealworms
- Treats -yogurt drops, dried fruits such as pineapple and mango, dried vegetables, fresh watermelon and oranges, or sweet potatoes
The Pet Glider Fresh Diet Staple consists of Pet Glider Vitamins with calcium, apple sauce, yogurt, calcium-fortified orange juice, oatmeal, protein (chicken, turkey or eggs), fresh or frozen vegetables and fruits. 1 ½ tablespoons per glider per day served in late afternoon. See the Staple Recipe
Many people make large batches of TPG staple and freeze it in small cups for easy nightly feeding.
There is minimal online ordering, excepting their vitamin/mineral supplement and a crunchy snack to keep their teeth clean like monkey biscuits or glider kibble.
Since TPG allows for a lot of freedom to choose diet components it lets you get to know your gliders favorites. There is also some responsibility on you to make informed and balanced decisions. For new owners, it may be helpful to seek the advice of an experienced mentor familiar with this diet.
TPG was developed by Priscilla Price, owner of The Pet Glider in Texas. Priscilla is a veteran in the sugar glider community and hosts the main American sugar glider lineage database.
