There is still activity on Glider Central, but it seems the social community has mostly moved into Facebook or other social media platforms. This is still the best resource around for detailed explanations and an insight into the evolution of community advice over the years.
Glider Central played a vital role in the development of the glider community, and contains the wisdom of hundreds of founding members over decades of glider experiences. I find myself returning to Glider Central to answer glider questions simply because it is easier to access the information there than the many posts behind non-googlable and closed Facebook groups.
