Critter Love Diet

Critter Love makes and sells a variety of powdered staples for sugar gliders, as well as other diet supplies and glider goodies.

Critter Love Complete and Critter Love Breeder are very convenient and easy to make. These staples cover the protein portion of the gliders’ diet and contain suggie-balanced vitamin and mineral supplements. Just add water, blend into a nectar, and serve alongside fruits and veggies each night, with some kibble and treats filling their foragers.

Critter Love Breeder supports a breeding mama’s needs for extra protein, fat, and calcium to make healthy milk. This is a very good diet to use with breeders that always seem to have joeys in pouch.

Critter Love Plus is a similar staple, but its preparation requires additional ingredients.

Daily Dinner Plate (per glider)

1 Tablespoon Critter Love Staple
24 grams fruit/veggie salad (roughly 2-3 tablespoons)

Critter Love Complete Staple Preparation

1 cup Critter Love Complete powder
3 cups water

Blend on high for 2 minutes
Pour into ice cube trays and freeze

Salad Recipes

If you prefer to make your own fruit and veggie mixes, there are five suggested salad mixes to rotate through. These mixes have been balanced by an exotic nutritionist, and substitutions should follow the recommended guidelines. Recipes are intended for large batches, so you may wish to halve them.

Kibble

In addition to the staple and salad daily dinner plate, gliders also enjoy having kibble, monkey biscuits, pellets, or similar available to them as a tasty snack that helps keep their teeth clean.

Critter Love has a variety of flavored glider kibbles and offers combo packs with the staple mix.

These diets were created by Peggy Hernandez Brewer of Critter Love. Peggy is an active member of the Facebook glider community and can often be found in the Sugar Gliders ABC’s and 123’s group, where she is an admin.

Personal

I feed Critter Love Complete to my gliders and they have done great on it for many years. It is extremely easy to prepare, stores well, and my gliders love it! Gliders boarding here take to it quickly and eat well during their stay. I have also used the Breeder version for my prolific breeding trio.
