Welcome to Sugar Glider Guardians
Sugar Glider Guardians is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping gliders in need and educating owners on best practices of glider husbandry. Sugar Glider Guardians was founded because of the overwhelming number of sugar gliders who are neglected, in danger, and poorly cared for. We work closely with the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to protect and rescue local sugar gliders, and organize a network of caring glider lovers across the country to assist with more distant ones. Please contact us if we can help, or if you’d like to help us help gliders.
Guardians focuses on helping gliders by networking. Our Sugar Glider Guardian FaceBook group has over 13,000 members, and more than 50 friendly mentors across the country. We strive to find homes for sugar gliders in need among our community members. Our fun auctions and raffles drum up financial contributions for vet care and neutering. There is a treasure trove of educational resources in the group’s files section, including an approved vendor list. Guardians often help arrange transportation of gliders along a “glider railroad” of competent glider owners who can safely relay gliders to their destination.
We accept donations of new and gently used items, as well as monetary donations. Donate to Sugar Glider Guardians via Paypal, or through the Guardians website.
